TPS54260: optimum switching power supply for LTE/3G

I am looking ahead to create a switching power supply for my design with a 32bit mcu and 4G LTE module, I just saw an application note with title "Creating GSM /GPRS Power Supply from TPS54260" which is seems to be a nice example, however I want to make 4V instead of 3.8 rest all requirements are same.

My question is, do we have a better solution as compared to TPS54260 which offers better efficiency and tight voltage control?

If TPS54260 is best then changing voltage divider would be sufficient to change from 3.8V to 4.0V or some more design changes are required.

What's your working condition? This part is used in 3.5V~60V input and 2.5A load.

If this meet your request, you can just change the divide resistor(from 3.8V to 4V),

For more detail, you can use the WEBENCH to make a simulation.

The part will be used with a 12V battery (9-14V), rest all will remain same.
Generally the module will be idle and will consume about 10mA@4V but during data communication 2A peaks will come

With a 9 to 14 V input, you will have a lot of options. You can probably consider a synchronous solution. You may find that a DCAP2 or DCAP+ control mode device will work well for your application. They have very fast transient response for load step changes such as you will encounter. You could enter your requirements directly in Webench and compare solutions for cost, size and efficiency.
