[FAQ] TPS650830: How to handle the Unused I2C Communication SDA & SCL Lines?

Part Number: TPS650830

What should I do if I am not using I2C Communication SDA & SCL Lines?

How to handle the Unused I2C Communication SDA & SCL Lines?

  • If the I2C lines are left floating, this could lead to high Iq current observed from the device. This is because, the noise causing toggle of the SCL and SDL lines turn on the internal oscillator. This can draw up to 1mA of Iq. The oscillator is stopped once the device receives a STOP command which can be a long time.

To terminate the I2C lines simply connect them to LD03V. Do not GND or float.
