TPS25921 vs TPS24720

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS24720

Hi E2E,

My customer would like to know the benefits/drawbacks of using the TPS25921 eFuse in place of the TPS24720.  So far, for the eFuse, we have:

Pros of the eFuse:

Lower cost

Fewer parts

More control of operation (custom current sensitivity)

Cons of the eFuse:

No built-in current sensing

Can’t set current below 400mA

Efficiency can be worse (90 mOhm FET in normal operation)

Larger chip

4.5V minimum supply (okay)

Are there any other notable benefits/drawbacks we're missing?  And is there a less expensive way to achieve this functionality?

Thanks,

-Sam
