[ LM5060 ] Bi-directional Load Switch

Hi,

Do you have any of reference design and/or ideas of bi-directional load switch with LM5060?

My customer has battery (around 50V) and motor as load. Since the motor has BMF effect, so the recovery energy can occur. What customer like to do is by using LM5060 which is powered from either VIN or VOUT through diode as below.

Do you have any ideas?
Thanks,
Ken

  • Ken,

This isn't something we have addressed before.

thoughts:  Believe It will conduct in both directions after power up, but it would only have power up with softart and CL functions from the Vin pin side with Vout ramp.  So believe you would have to have Vin up to start with and activate POR to turn on the IC. If Vout were present without Vin, the gate will immediately rise to Vout through a forward biased 16v zener shown in the block diagram.

This would have to be something that you breadboard and check.
