LMZ31710: Output capacitors

Hello,

Our customers use the following capacitor in parallel as an output capacitor of the LMZ31710.

These are different from the recommended capacitors.

Are there any problems?

・T520D687M004ATE012(KEMET) 　680uF ±20%,ESR 12 mOhms (100kHz 25C),T520
・C3225X5R1A476M250AC(TDK) 　 47μF ±20%,ESR 2.4mOhms (100kHz),X5R
・C1005JB1A105KT(TDK) 47μF ±20%,ESR 2.4mOhms (100kHz),JB
・C1005JB1H104K050BB(TDK) 100nF ±10%,ESR 227mOhms (100kHz),JB

Vin=5V,Vout=1.05V

All of the capacitors you have selected are high quality, low-ESR capacitors. They will work fine for your application.

Hi,

I have one more question.

Our customer is using a capacitor with poor DC bias characteristics.

When the actual capacity of the input capacitor is less than 44uF,

Is there any damage to the device(LMZ31710)?

There will be no damage to the device if the input capacitance is less than 44uF. They may notice a slight drop in input voltage during a load transient.
