PTH08T220W: PTH08T220W 1V issue

Part Number: PTH08T220W

Dear sir,

We are using your PTH08T220W module and i have attached its reference design and layout.I am facing a issue that when ever i am connecting it with my processsor it is going to zero.

My processor is consuming only 3A @ 1V and while booting but it gets zero as i connect.

When i disconnect again it is getting  1v.

We have tried to change the output capacitor also but result is same.3036.power 1V.pdf

Previously we have used this same board for this it worked fine but now we are facing issues.

Regards,

Vipin

    I have several questions .

1.What is the R42 value? Is  it open?

2.What is the ESR on R205 and R205?

    3. Are you controlling Sync.pin ?

    4. What is the input current and input voltage when you are connecting  1.0V to Vout pins before and after application?

    Tom

  • Dear sir,

    1 R42 is 0 OHM.

2 C205,C206  part number is  ECA-1VM102 its ESR is not Mentioned and alternatively i have also used ESY108M035AL4AA this also but the result was same its ESR was 18mohm.

3 We are not controlling SYNC pin.

4 Input power is  12V@28A.I have not seen any drop in input power after connecting it to application but output from PTH08T220W is decreasing to 0.2V.

    regards,

    Vipin

Thanks for the informati0on on the output aluminum capacitors regardless of ESR  and R42 turbo trans resistor of 0 ohms.

Aluminum capacitors cannot be used  with turbo trans resistors at any value. .

Remove R42  when using turbo trans function and aluminum  capacitors .

or change to polymer types such as Oscon  16SVPF1000  .
