LMZ30606: Layout question of the AGND and PGND

Part Number: LMZ30606

Hi

I am using the LMZ30606RKG. I haev a question about the layout of the AGND and PGND.

- according to TI support engineer I should have connected the PGND and AGND in schematics. thing is, in the datasheet layout examples it shows two separate planes of the AGND and PGND.

so my question are:

- if I do not separate them in schematics. do i ignore datasheet layout recommendation which shows two GND planes?

- if I do separate them, how do i deal with pin 37? in the datasheet figure 36, pin 37 is in the middle of AGND but no separation

  • The AGND and PGND of the LMZ30606 need to be connected in your schematic. In your layout, the AGND and PGND areas should be seperate except for a single point connection. In this way, the analog circuitry will not be in the return path of the heavier switching current of the PGND.
