Why is the storage temp on the UCD9081 only spec'd -40 to 85C?

UCD9081 is a earlier deice designed around differen hardware platform and it is not designed and chared beyond the -40 to 85C.

If customer want to a wide temperature device, i would recommend UCD9090A which is -40 to 150 for storage and -40 to 110 for operation.
