Hi Team,

Our customer would like to use TPS25942A at the following conditions(Load current is around 10A).

Because, they needs the current monitor and reverse current blocking and diode mode.

Therefore, they would like to use this device.

Can this device operate the parallel operation?

I guess that if TPS25942A_1 and TPS25942A_2 and TPS25942_3 operates at the same time,

the actual current of each device varies by " variation of ON resistance between each device ".

Could you please let us know if you have any concern?

Hi Kanemaru,

We have not yet evaluated parallel operation of the TPS25942A. When internal switch is fully turned on, load current sharing depends upon variation of on-resistance between each device. We have evaluated TPS259241 parallel operation. Here is the schematic for your reference.

I have one more question.

If they use TPS25942A at the parallel operation, do the following functions operate normally?

-Current monitor

-Reverse current blocking

-Diode mode.

We worry about a side effect of the parallel operation.

Especially, we would like to know the behavior of the current of each device.

Hi Kanemaru-san,

When used in parallel operation, these device functional modes should not get affected. Here is the circuit for parallel operation of the TPS25942A.

Note: The customer should make sure to test the circuit to a satisfactory level before using it in production.
