TPS22913CEVM-656: TPS22913C

Part Number: TPS22913CEVM-656

My issue is that I have a high failure rate with a particular TPS22913C in the circuit U22. I've simulated the situation when the input Voltage falls off rapidly, as if the power source were removed, what I think is that the output capacitor is too large and a reverse current flows which is more than 2.5A before the protection circuit kicks in. Possibly cascading two devices has not helped.

Can the device be destroyed by reverse current ?

  • Hey Simon,

Thanks for posting your question here, I have a few questions to better understand your situation.

What are your below operating parameters?

    input voltage

    Input capacitance

    output resistance (or output current)

When you say that the "off slew rate is only 6.6us" do you mean that the output voltage falls from ~90% to ~10% (tF) in 6.6us?

Could you post a scope shot of off the fall time?

It looks like you tried to post an image, but it is not being displayed. I've found it works if you use the "rich text formatting" option then select "add file".

    Best,

    Nick
