Replacement part for TMS320C54CST

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C54CST, TMS320VC5407

We had used TMS320C54CST in one of our designs sometimes back. Since it's obsolete, could you please recommend a replacement part from 54x series? Would there be a pin-to-pin replacement? Since 54CST had a UART, replacement would preferably be one with UART as well.

PS: We have done some analysis and TMS320VC5407 seems to be a good match. Can somebody please verify?

    Can you provide us more information regarding your requirements of your application?

    1. What is the max cpu frequency needed?

    2. Peripharals?

    3. Power consumption requirements?

    4. Cost?

    5. etc?

    Hi Hyun

    Thanks for your kind response. Here are answers to your questions in the same order:

    1- 120 MHz or more

    2- We need one with extended addressing mode (as in 54CST). Following are main peripherals being used:

    - On-chip RAM (40K x 16)

    - 2x McBSP

    - UART

    3- No preference

    4- Preferably less than 54CST

    A drop-in replacement would be preferred.
