AM5708: pru firmware compilation failure

Hi,

I downloaded the pru firmware from below link.

I am trying to compile the pru firmware in ccs. I installed the pru compilers 2.2.x versions.

I am getting below error. I do not know where to download pru compiler version 2.0 can you please help.

Hi Ganesh,

Are you trying to compile EMAC firmware ? I am not familiar with this build method. Typically, the way around this issue would be to just change the PRU compiler version in settings.

Can you use makefile based compilation for PRU firmware instead ? I am attaching the build script which can be used to generate PRU elf binaries.

build_icss_firmware.sh

To build EMAC firmware :

1. Edit the script to point to PRU compiler, path to PDK and EMAC firmware

2. Use ./build_icss_firmware.sh -f emac -o <output_dir>

3. This will generate EMAC firmware for all SoC's including AM57

Hi Vineet,

Thank you. I was able to build the firmware. This was very useful.

Currently we are running SDK version 05.03.00.07, Which we will be upgrading shortly.

Meanwhile we want to test a fix in Dual EMAC mode. So can you please share the pdk source code corresponding to 05.03.00.07?

I am not able to find the pdk corresponding to 05.03.00.07 in your git repository.

Hi Ganesh,

You can get it from the RTOS release https://www.ti.com/tool/download/PROCESSOR-SDK-RTOS-AM57X/05.03.00.07

Firmware is under pdk/packages/ti/drv/icss_emac

Hi Vineet,

Thank you again. I could find the pdk in the RTOS release. But the build script you shared above is not working for this.

If possible can you share the build steps for this 05.03.00.07

Hi Ganesh,

Can you compare the firmware folder you have right now and that in 05.03.00.07 ? I think only the makefile infrastructure is missing. If you just copy that over then it will build.
