AM1808: Proper I/O configuration with PI0, SPI1, UART0 to UART2, I2C0, RMII on AM1808

Part Number: AM1808

Our customer would like to use PI0 and SPI1, UART0 to UART2, I2C0, RMII on AM1808.(Please refer to Pin set up)
When they set MDIO CLK and MDIO D of RMII,
Chip Select 0 (SPI0_SCS0) and Chip Select 1 (SPI0_SCS1) cannot be selected in SPI0.
Chip Select2 (SPI0_SCS2) and Chip Select3 (SPI0_SCS3) can be selected
Are these the right MUX configuration specification of  AM1808 ?.

If there is any problem please let us know .

On the other hand

They plan to  connect only one SPI device and  don't need to chip select.
In that case,  is it possible to use ENA instead of CS?

SPI0 will be used for MASTER and SPI1 will be used for slave .(But reverse configuration is also Okay)

Could you advise  proper I/O configuration with PI0, SPI1, UART0 to UART2, I2C0, RMII on AM1808 ?

  • I don't see a problem in using any  of the CS pins that don't conflict with any other function. So the pin configuration above is fine.  Which CS is used is selected via the programming of the interface or when  the  transmit data is written.

Enable is more of a flow control mechanism and is only an option if the connected devices support it.  Of course, since there is only one device connected, you only need one CS. Using 3-pin mode is another possible option, again, only of the connected device supports it.
