J721EXSOMXEVM: tda4vm

Part Number: J721EXSOMXEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRA829, TDA4VM

Hi,

My customer need assistance.

I’m interested in the J721EXSOMG01EVM board. I learnt that on the board there is a SOC called J721E, which is the superset of dra829,tda4vm and am752x. I have 3 questions:
(1) will the J721E SOC be in large production in the future?
(2) if J721E is just for the demo board, then if I use this board for my project, finally the code should be redeployed on dra829, tda4vm or am752x for production. What should I do in refactoring the code for the redeployment?
(3) on the updated datasheet of tda4vm and dra829, I found the PRU_ICSSG module is removed. I need this module together with C71, R5F and C66X cores for my project. Will the PRU_ICSSG module appear in the release of AM752X in the future? That’s my last hope to use the new platform.

Please help. Thanks.

  • Hi,

Regarding (1), could you please re-phrase the question, not sure I'm understanding.

Regarding (2), no code re-factoring would be expected, the device chose for production would work the same as the J721E on the EVM.   Please keep in mind that board changes would need to be accounted for,

ICSSG is not supported on DRA829 and currently there is no plan to include it in future revisions of the SoC
