PROCESSOR-SDK-AM64X: Which core-sdk-<version>-config.txt to use for AM64X 08_00_00_21

Part Number: PROCESSOR-SDK-AM64X

Hi:

Sorry to keep dribbling this in.

I am at this step:

software-dl.ti.com/.../Overview_Building_the_SDK.html

$ ./oe-layertool-setup.sh -f configs/core-sdk/core-sdk-<version>-config.txt

but the only file that looks close is this one.
coresdk-08.00.00.004-config.txt

However, here
software-dl.ti.com/.../Release_Specific_Yocto_layer_Configuration.html

it says to use this one

processor-sdk-08.00.00.21-config.txt

Which coresdk file should I use? Or should I be using the processor-sdk file?

I'm not one for trial and error with yocto, so it would be good if this stuff was specfied.

Thanks

Howard

  • Hi Howard,

I'm not from TI, but I've encountered the same problem as you. I think TI hasn't pushed the latest config to git yet since the processor-sdk-linux-08.00.00.21 was only released recently. For now I've been using processor-sdk-linux/processor-sdk-linux-07_03_00.txt when building arago-core-psdkla-bundle (rootfs + SDK), and coresdk/coresdk-08.00.00.004-config.txt when building tisdk-default-image (just the rootfs).

Hopefully someone from TI can let us know when they will release the config for processor-sdk-linux 08.00.00.21.

    Steve

  • Hi Steven and Howard,

Yes, let me check with the team to see when they plan to push the new config and I'll come back to you by Friday.

  • Steven and Howard,

Just in case you have not seen it, the proper config was updated and is now here:

    configs/processor-sdk/processor-sdk-08.00.00.21-config.txt

    Thanks.

  • So I still don't know if I should be using the processor-sdk configs or the one in core-sdk.   I'm currently just using the core-sdk, but the doc seem to be in conflict with itself.

  • processor-sdk config is what aligns with what we release on ti.com and is recommended. The docs should reflect it, but I understand if you find some discrepancies and apologize for those in advance.
