TMDSSK3358: How to use USB/JTAG in CCS

Part Number: TMDSSK3358

I bought TMDSSK335, and started to use it.

According to 3.9.1 in spruih9.pdf (as shown below), I will be able to USB/JTAG in CCS.

I can't find detailed information to use USB/JTAG in CCS.

Could you please teach me how to use USB/JTAG in CCS clearly.

On the other hand, I was able to use Linux serial terminal via USB.

  • I think that Target Configuration file is needed to use JTAG in CSS.

Could you provide a Target Configuration file ?

Are there any TODO items other than this ?

  • I created a target configuration file as shown in the image below.

Then I launched this and connect the target board, I got this message.

Then, I pressed resume button,  started to run bootloader program.

But, when kernel started, I got this error message.

It seems that kernel disabled JTAG.

I used default u-boot and kernel in the SDK created by create-sdcard.sh script.

Attached files are u-boot (MLO and u-boot.img).

And kernel  is in the tisdk-base-image-am335x-evm.tar.xz.

Could you teach me how to fix this problem.

After fixed, I'd like to debug kernel by CSS.

  • I failed to upload u-boot (MLO and u-boot.img).
This files were created by create-sdcard.sh script.
    I selected default u-boot.

    I tried upload u-boot again.
"uploading" message was displayed, and I pressed OK button, it remained OK button popup window.

  • Could you give me something reply by today in your time zone ?
If no reply, I have to wait until next Tuesday (in my time zone JST).

  • Hello Naoto,

Apologies for the delayed response. I have assigned your thread to our RTOS CCS owner. Please ping the thread if you do not get a reply within a day or so.

    Regards,

    Nick

  • Hi Naoto Uegaki,

The connection log showed that your board was connected to CCS properly.

TI has a few training sessions on how to debug kernel/u-boot through CCS. Please check them out here:

    Hope this is helpful.

  • Thank you for reply.
    It's great video.
