DRA821U: PROCESSOR-SDK-RTOS-J7200 — RTOS SDK for DRA821 Jacinto Processors

Hi,

You may be looking at the pdkProjectCreate.bat or pdkProjectCreate.sh, please confirm. Note that we do not support generation of these CCS projects on the Jacinto 7 devices and that list reflects the devices where this support exists.

Please refer to the the SDK documentation (linked here: https://software-dl.ti.com/jacinto7/esd/processor-sdk-rtos-j7200/08_00_00_12/exports/docs/psdk_rtos/docs/user_guide/index.html) and navigate to the PDK folders to understand the PDK build procedure.

There are plenty of examples available to help you get started on both A72 and R5F from the links above.

Hi I cannot use Linux for my development it needs to be bare-metal so I can certify for safety, there appears to be some support for the R5F  but for the A72 see  "TI-RTOS(SysBIOS) / Non-OS(Baremetal) Support for examples on A72 core will be de-scoped from next release."   This suggest I will need to go elsewhere for  my processor choice.

This covers both RTOS and Baremetal.

The note that you are referencing is a warning for one RTOS variant - TI-RTOS/SysBIOS getting descoped. The release supports FreeRTOS - this is our longer term supported choice of RTOS.

Hi Karthik  Thank you for you quick response  I had already downloaded the SDK tar ball but the   "Windows code gen tools tar ball" failed to download ( I have tried numerous times)   while I am waiting for the issue to the Code gen tar ball to be resolved can you point me to a bare-metal project in the SDK for the A72 I can load directly into CCS 10.0. Ideally I need a simple project for the R5F and the A72  that I can run an Ethernet loopback without an RTOS ( i.e. bare-metal) even one with a simple timer interrupt will be sufficient to get started.      

Hi I still cannot download the  code gen tools tar ball (ti-processor-sdk-rtos-j7200-evm-08_00_00_12-windows_codegen_tools.tar.gz ) it stops at 208Mbytes every time  and times out. I shave successfully downloaded all the other packages. 

Hi, have managed to successfully download the code gen tar  (issue my end)  I can see how to debug and load application on DRA821 using CCS10 but compiling / building appears to be via Linux make commands. I am looking for an Integrated Development Environment i.e. CCS10 on windows,where I can compile, build, load and debug onto the DRA821. I have successfully developed on C6000, C64, C66 AM57 and others but support for the DRA821 appears sketchy in this respect. Ideal starting point is a bare-metal timer example or simple LwIP example that I can compile on CCS..
