AM5726: Maximum Image Width for Video Input Port

Part Number: AM5726

Hello,

I used the AM5726 and its VIP to capture grayscale images. Until now we multplexed two 8bit pixel on the 16 bit wide VIP-A which worked well.

Now I woul like to capture 10 bit per pixel ( 16bpp for the VIP ) and this works for our two low resolution sensors with 800x600 and 1280x1024 but not for our 2592x2048 pixel sensor.

In the VIP-section of the manual I found

"Supports up to 4095 pixels wide input - without scaling and chroma up/down sampling"

When capturing images with 10bpp which are 16bpp for the VIP every line of the image has 2592x2 bytes but still 2592 pixel. Is this outside the limits of the VIP?

Thanks,

    Stephan

  • Stephan,

As such we have not tried such high resolution, but since TRM mentions line limit as 4095 pixels, it should be possible to capture 2592 line width, if you dont use any of the internal module, not even cropping/trimmer module in VIP.
