AM5749: SD card boot issue

Part Number: AM5749
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDSIDK574

Hi team,

Our customer is developing their prototype-system with AM5749. Customer was trying to boot Linux from an SD card, however, it does not seems to boot-up.

First of all, what should customer check on hardware/software sides? Should I request customer to share console message ?

I really appreciate if your experts will share your advice/comments on this.

Best regards,

Miyazaki

  • Hello expert teams,

    I am the original questioner about the above issue.

    I share some information about the issue and HW/SW conditions.

    <Issue>

    Problem:

    In spite of succeeding in booting from SD card with TMDSIDK574, booting from the same SD card with our board was failed.

    Detail:

    When inserting the SD card into the slot on our board and powering up,  signal:MMC_CLK was out.

    But shortly after that, signal:MMC_CLK was stopped and nothing happened.

    No console message from SerialPort  was displayed.

    On the other hand, when inserting the same SD card into the slot on TMDSIDK574 and powering up, booting was successful with some console messages,

    <Hardware>

    MCU:

    AK5749 ( same chip on TMDSIDK574 )

    Circuit:

    Our circuit of our board is almost the same as the circuit of TMDSIDK574, including "Boot Configuration" block.

    <Software>

    OS:

    RTOS

    SDK:

    processor_sdk_rtos_am57xx_06_03_02_08-windows-x64

  • Hi Experts,

    Can we have your advice/comments on this issue, please?

    Should we check  sysboot [5: 0] boot strap configuration, first of all?

    Best regards,

    Miyazaki

  • Hi team,

    Can I have any advice/comments on this, please? we could not receive any comments for two weeks..

    Our customer is waiting for Expert's advice/comments on this inquiry.

    Best regards,

    Miyazaki

  • Miyazaki,

    Sorry for the delayed response. I have asked our uboot team to help to sanity-check the boot configurations on the customer board. Please do provide their bootmode strap configurations in the mean time. Also let us know if you have alternative boot sources available, then we can isolate the MMC debug as needed.

    regards

    Jian

  • Hi Miyazaki-san,

    Do you have access to CCS? Can you please attach JTAG and checkout where exactly is the
    ARM core executing? Could you check if the execution has entered SPL?

    Best Regards,
