TMDS64GPEVM: CCS Studio v11 Linux USB XDS problems

Part Number: TMDS64GPEVM

I am having problems on attaching the onboard debugger of the AM64x-EVM to my virtual linux machine
* Host is Windows 10
* Virtual Machine is running with Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
* onboard debugger is connected through USB from host through VirtualBox to the Ubuntu VM
* CCS Studio Version is 11.0.0.0001
* lsusb command is showing the device "Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0451:bef3 Texas Instruments, Inc. "
* Selected Conncetion is "Texas Instruments XDS110 USB Debug Probe"
* Selected Board is "AM64x_GP_EVM"
Following error is showing up (also seen in the attached screenshots)
This error is generated by TI's USCIF driver or utilities.

The value is '-600' (0xfffffda8).
The title is 'SC_ERR_LIB_ANY_LOCATE'.

The explanation is:
A required dynamic library could not be located.
The library isn't on the search path.

Which does not really give me any hint to go further.
Thanks in advance for any hints or help.
