TDA4VM: APP: Syncing with 5 CPUs blocked

we made some changes (mainly on the switch configuration) based on the sdk 8.0,  and the system runs correctly when we installed it to the  sd card,  but when we installed it to emmc device , the system is blocked on app_init(), with the print infomation of "APP: Syncing with 5 CPUs ...!!!".

we have made another test, with some changes below, it can reproduce the same error.

    If you do not add this test and run the default vision_apps_init.sh with emmc, does it run successfully?  And can you send the log?

  • The problem is still exist, you can reproduce the problem on TDA4EVM board by running instructions below ,no modifcation or update for sdk is needed:

    1、cd ti-processor-sdk-rtos-j721e-evm-08_00_00_12/vision_apps/

    2、make vision_apps

    3、make linux_fs_install_sd

    4、boot from sd card, when linux system bringup, format emmc device with the partitions same as the sd card; and mount  emmc partitions to /run/media/mmcblk0p1 /run/media/mmcblk0p2

    5、copy the system from sd to emmc:

        cp /run/media/mmcblk1p1/* /run/media/mmcblk0p1/

        cd /run/media/mmcblk0p2/
        mkdir run media mnt tmp dev proc sys var
        cp -a /bin /home /init /linuxrc /opt /usr /boot /etc /include /lib /sbin /run/media/mmcblk0p2/

        sync

    6、reboot to uboot, install  uboot to emmc by following the instructions of sdk user manual

    7、switch to emmc bootmode, and bring the system up,now run  /opt/vision_apps/vision_apps_init.sh,the print info will show you the result.

    to ensure the system is directly booted from emmc,you can pull out the sd card from the slot.
