Hi Team,

We would like to ask your help regarding our customer's inquiry below.

1. We need compiler support or suggestions for compiler to be used for building files existing TMS320C6201 controller.
2. In our existing architecture HPI was used for interfacing PCI matchmaker controller S5933 .We might also require suggestions for controller with PCIE and ethernet support without need for HPI also. That would be helpful for us to compare and decide based on our needs.

Please note that C6201 is not recommended for new designs as per the product page, and we will not be able to answer questions about the hardware or software of this device. If hardware and software resources still exist for this part, they can be found on the product page:

One additional note: I am not sure whether the legacy DSP / BIOS releases support C6201 or not:

The release notes for the last release list other members of the C62x family, but not 6201.

Thanks for ur response on 1st question. I would also like to get your inputs on my 2nd question which i have copied below,

Hello Danilo

Since the c6201 device was introduced in 1997, we do not have any additional guidance on what newer controllers can work with this extremely old device. As Nick highlighted we do not support this device , it is not recommended for new designs (as listed on the product folder) , so we will not be able to provide any additional guidance on this topic.

I turned your latest response into a new question at https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors-group/processors/f/processors-forum/1081294/please-suggest-a-processor-with-pcie-and-ethernet-support . Please respond to that thread with any additional details (e.g., if the customer prefers the processor to run Linux, RTOS, bare metal, if there are any other system design considerations, if they are looking for generic Ethernet or a specific networking protocol, etc). I assigned that thread to our Sitara processors marketing contact. If a different family of devices makes more sense for your customer's application, they can send your thread to the appropriate team.
