DVSDK upgrade: bootloaders

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP3530

Hi,

OMAP35xEVM: I am finally in the process of upgrading DVSDK versions from 3_00_00_29 (with PSP 1.0.2) to the latest version dvsdk_4_01_00_09_omap3530. Got a question regarding boot-loaders: is it necessary to copy newly built bootloaders (x-loader and u-boot) on NAND? Is it just good enough to replace the uImage and filesys to go ahead?

Thank you.

  • I would recommend to upgrade both (x-loader and uboot) of the images, you may get into issues since kernel is still dependent on bootloader initialization, like clock configuration, pad configuration, etc...So better update and sync all the images with the release.

    Thanks,

    Vaibhav
