TMS320C6657: Distinguish C6657 vs 55 vs 54

Part Number: TMS320C6657

Hi,

With the 6654 shortage, the goal is to differentiate in the SW the 6657 and the 6654.

The DEVSPEED register does distinguish a 6654 from a 6655 because they have a different max frequency, but the 6657 has an 850 MHz version like the 6654 and a 1.25 GHz version like the 6655.

In the post e2ev here :

https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors-group/processors/f/processors-forum/1059129/tms320c6654-distinguish-c6654-or-55?tisearch=e2e-sitesearch&keymatch=TMS320C6654&cm_session=0d27c95e-553e-4b45-ac81-cb0b398b19db&cm_type=link&cm_link=696410d1-d2aa-467f-9041-f3b92e552d17&utm_campaign=0d27c95e-553e-4b45-ac81-cb0b398b19db&utm_medium=email&utm_source=contactmonkey&utm_content=sales%201%3a1&utm_term=RE%3a+TEXAS+situation+for+Staubli+Faverges

The user relies on a reserved area of the DEVSPEED register to distinguish a 6657. How can we do it properly to distinguish a 6657? We need information on the number of cores present (but not the DNUM because in all cases only one core is used)

Regards,

Geoffrey
