PROCESSOR-SDK-AM64X: EtherCAT Master Support

Hi Team,

I have a doubt regarding the EtherCAT slave devices AM64x, AM243x and AM263x. I know these devices can be worked as an EtherCAT Slaves but can I run EtherCAT Master stack and Master application on these devices. If not, which all TI boards support EtherCAT master application and stack to run on it. What should I be looking for to check whether a chip supports EtherCAT master or not ?. Do all EtherCAT slave devices support master stack also?

Also I wanted to know that, is it possible to achieve master redundancy in EtherCAT?

For EtherCAT master, you can check options like IgH (open source) and Acontis (commercial).

Hi Dhaval,

Thank you for your quick response. We already have information about IgH and Accontis Master Stacks. My question was, is it possible run these Master stacks on slave devices as well (or) is it possible to interchangeably use the slave as master by running master stack on it and vice versa.

Device is not specific for master or slave. You can run master or slave on the same device by using appropriate software/firmware.
