AM5748: Not able to boot from SPI and reboot also not working. Needed SPI NOR Uboot & kernel support for chip (MX25L25735FZ2I-10G)

Hi All,

We are developing custom board using AM5748 SOC. we were able to read, write and erase from spi nor

( MX25L25735FZ2I-10G ) on uboot and kernel. but board is booting from SD card only not from SPI flash.

if we boot from the SDcard not able to reboot and reset.

Uboot version:- u-boot-2018.01 part of the sdk

Kernel version:- 4.14.40

Please let us know something about to change on this source.

Hi Keerthy,

I looked into above size constraints. Im using hex value only for write and erase. everything is looks fine. still i'm seeing this problem like not booting from SPI no console prints seen.

MLO
------
Allocated size 0x40000 -> 0.4 MB
Our MLO file size -> 107K -> 0.1 MB

u-boot.img
--------------
Allocated size 140000-40000 = 0x100000 -> 1048576 -> 1MB
Our u-boot.img file size -> 887K -> 0.8 MB

please let me know if you find something.

Hi keerthy,

Any update on this please let me know. we are waiting for this. one question on this, Is AM5748 ROM code supports this Macronix ( MX25L25735FZ2I-10G ) ?.

Any requirements for this to change sysboot options.

I updated path gave from Macronix website for 4byte addressing. For reference, https://www.mxic.com.tw/Lists/MoreSoftware/Attachments/181/U-Boot%202018.01%20SPI%20NOR%20Flash%20Driver%20Patch.zip. after read,write,erase is happening but still issue is there in booting SPI.

Hi Uthaykumar,

Can you attach JTAG and check if you are executing from SPL or still stuck at RoM code?
I will checking internally on this with RoM code experts. I will get back to you as soon as I hear back.

Hi Uthay,

I am checking the AM574x-IDK user guide:www.ti.com/.../spruij9b.pdf

We support the Spansion (S25FL256S) 32Mb part. I will check with our RoM experts if the part you have used is supported or not.
In the meantime could you please attach CCS & check where the code is stuck? Is it in SPL or ROM Code?
