I am a final year student doing my engineering and I am developing a fingerprint recognition system. I have to use a DSP processor for the same. The TMS320VC55XX series seems feasible to me(if i am not wrong by using TMS320VC5504/05). Can anyone please tell me whether the ezDSP tool TMDX5505EZDSP can be used for the same i.e image processing. Also is it possible to interface a scanner to it using a particular protocol like SPI or Parallel or I2C ?

    Fakhruddin,

    It is not a simple question. I believe it depends on how much data processign you need. The C5505 can run up to 100 MHz. It has SPI, I2C, EMIF (external memoty interface) and more. If you have specific questions, we would be able to help you out more.  FYI, fingerprint recongntion is one of our target applications.
