AM6548: About A53 OS

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SYSBIOS

Hi experts,

Please allow me to confirm a few things about the OS of A53 on AM65x.

Q1:Which of the following methods do you recommend when proceeding with development with TI-RTOS (SysBIOS)?

1.Use the latest SDK (v08_02_00_05) and copy the bios_6_83_02_07 folder included in the v08_00_00_12 installer to proceed with development
2.Proceed with development using all the contents included in v08_00_00_12.

Considering future issues such as driver updates, we think it is better to always use the latest SDK. I have received an answer in the following thread that the statement to copy the bios_6_83_02_07 folder itself is not a problem. However, I am confused because TI-RTOS is only supported up to v08_00_00_12.

Q2:Is Linux the only OS that will be supported by A53 in the future?

Q3In what format are the FreeRTOS sample projects provided and where can I find them? (Binary or CCS Project?)

I tried Bulid with reference to "3. Getting Started" in the PDK User's Guide, but the "PDK_INSTALL_DIR/packages/ti/binary/<example>" folder was not created. I referred to "4.2.5. FreeRTOS Examples" in the PDK User's Guide, I found no CCS Project or Binary in the "PDK_INSTALL_PATH}/packages/ti/kernel/test/freertos" folder. It would be helpful if you could tell me the location of the sample and template applications.

Best regards,
O.H
