Dear TI Support Team,
I am currently testing booting the AM65x IDK from an SD Card and I have encountered the following problem: booting from the standard bootable SD Card works fine on one board (PCB REV 1.0) but it doesn't work on another (PCB REV E4).
I prepared a bootable SD card with the Win32DiskImager. For this I used an SD Card image which is located in:
C:\ti\processor_sdk_rtos_am65xx_07_00_00_05\prebuilt-sdcards\am65xx_idk\sd_card_img\sd_card.img.gz
I have two evaluation boards (hereinafter EVM 1 and EVM 2)
Both are based on the AM65x SR2.0
However, the PCB versions for the two boards are different:
As can be seen in the image above:
- EVM 1 at the place of the marking PCB REV has the sticker “1.0” while
- EVM 2 is marked with “PCB REV : E4”;
In my case, booting with the same bootable SD Card works fine for EVM 1 (PCV REV 1.0) and does NOT work for EVM 2 (PCB REV : E4).
As can be seen in the image above both boards have the same Boot Mode settings (3 - boot from MMC1 - SD Card).
Also, the image shows that EVM 2 has some modifications, which (according to the schematic) are related to the SD Card Interface:
(The board already contained these modifications when we received it from TI)
I tried to analyze the meaning of these modifications, but the archive with the schematics available for downloading on the TI website contains schematics only for PCB REV E3 and E4 (not for REV 1.0).
I would also like to note that in addition to the SD Card image from the PDK version 07.00.00.05 mentioned above, I have also tried the images from the PDK versions 6.00.00.07, 6.03.00.106(SR1.0 and SR2.0) and 08.02.00.05
In this regard, I have a few questions:
- Is it possible in principle to boot EVM 2 (PCB REV : E4 with modifications what I have) from the SD Card? If yes, what are the specifics of preparing a bootable SD Card for this EVM?
- Is there a pre-build disk image for this version of the PCB?
- Where can I find the schematics for the PCB REV 1.0?
