TMS320C6474: thermal diode for on die temp. measurements

Part Number: TMS320C6474

Hi,

my customer Nokia is using for a logn time one of our Keystone DSP's in their Basestation (tci6638K2K  similar to TMS320C6xxx) and is even doing a new design with it.  They want to use our thermal diodes which we made available thru:

4.1 Pin Map – Bottom View
• Page 37: Figure 5-6; pin E33 changes from RSV015 to THERMDIODEA1
• Page 37: Figure 5-6; pin F32 changes from RSV016 to THERMDIODEC1
• Page 36: Figure 5-5; pin F26 changes from RSV017 to THERMDIODEA2
• Page 36: Figure 5-5; pin G26 changes from RSV018 to THERMDIODEC2

but need to know if these PIN's are ESD protected because this could have some impact on the measurement but also if the temp sensor connected is powered before the DSP itself.

I know this is an old device and usual statement is that these diodes are not characterized nor tested but Nokia found this still usefull for their application.

Thanks for your support, Bertram
