AM6421: RGMII Interface for EtherCAT supported by hardware and software?

Hi TI,

Is RGMII Interface supported for EtherCAT by hardware and software? According to AM64xx datasheet, and TRM, the Industrial Subsystem supports MII and RGMII by hardware. Also the PHY which is used in AM64 EVM does support both MII and RGMII. However, when looking up the example applications for EtherCAT in mcu_plus_sdk_am64x_08_03_00_18/examples/industrial_comms, the corresponding PinMux file (ethercat_slave_demo/simple/am64x-evm/r5fss0-0_freertos/example.syscfg) ist set to MII mode for EtherCAT.

Can you please confirm, that RGMII is supported by hardware as well as by software?

Hi Felix,

The Ethercat example does not support RGMII mode

Hi Prajith,

Could we just change the configuration to use RGMII for EtherCAT or is there a hardware reason?
We have made a design with the PHY DP83867ISRGZ. This PHY does not support MII, only RGMII.
