OMAP3530: BSP WinCE License

Part Number: OMAP3530

Hi Team,

Our customer would like to install the WinCE 6.0 BSP for OMAP3530 from this link: https://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_sb/targetcontent/bsp/06_13_00b/index_FDS.html

The guide however states that an activation ID/license (.lic file) is needed for its proper installation. However, the request link https://www.ti.com/requestfreesoftware  seems to be no longer available. Do we have an updated link/process for the activation license request?

Thanks in advance!

Kind Regards,

Jejomar

  • Jejomar,

I looked into this and it's a bit difficult as this is a very old offering, and most/all folks involved are no longer with TI. I did find a lead and I'm trying to figure out internally if this still is something we can provide. Will update here with what I find, but it may take until mid-next week.

Also not sure what the customer is doing but how about using Linux instead of Windows CE?

    Regards, Andreas

  • Just to set support expectations: OMAP3530 is an older part with no design support as per the product page:
    https://www.ti.com/product/OMAP3530

So if we can find a way to provide the WinCE license for that customer who is using OMAP3530 in their existing design, we will. However, we will not be able to answer any software or hardware questions about OMAP3530. If the customer is creating a new design, we can help to suggest newer TI parts that still have design support.

    Regards,

    Nick

  • Jejomar,

so I talked to at least 6 different folks within TI that were all involved with that project in some capacity and/or that associated license server. But unfortunately there is no trace of the process/method for this any longer, and with this we won't be able to provide such license files any longer.

If you are after looking at the old BSP sources to understand some usage/implementation details around OMAP3530 the Linux sources might be a good place to look.

Also note Nick's answer in this thread as well.

    Regards, Andreas
