TMDSEVM6678: Follow-up on "TMDSEVM6678: Inclusions" thread

Part Number: TMDSEVM6678

Hi Team,

Support center received another follow-up inquiry from the thread below.
Customer is expecting to have power supply included with the kit. He is from Europe, France.

https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors-group/processors/f/processors-forum/1130109/tmdsevm6678-inclusions/4193371#4193371

The answer on the thread is not clear. Does the kit comes with Power Supply/Adapter?
Is it possible to provide the adapter to the customer?

Best regards,

Art

  • Art,

Power adapters are not provided due to various governmental restrictions.

    Regards,
    Kyle

  • Thanks for getting back to me Kyle.
May I know the details of the restriction?
Also, is there a way for the customer to acquire a power adapter?
What if he wants to return the kit because it does not have a power adapter?

    Appreciate your response on this.

    Best regards,

    Art

  • Hi Kyle,

Appreciate it if you could get back to us regarding the following questions:

    1. May I know the details of the restriction?
    2. Also, is there a way for the customer to acquire a power adapter?
    3. What if he wants to return the kit because it does not have a power adapter?

    Cordially,

  • 1. I don't have recall the full background, but it's been a TI policy (at least for Processors) for a while now.  Not sure how other groups may handle this.

    2. Yes, they should be able to buy something from places like DigiKey.  From the user guide:

DC_IN1 is a DC Power-in Jack Connector for the stand-alone application of

TMDXEVM6678L. It is a 2.5mm power jack with positive center tip polarity. Do not use

this connector if EVM is inserted into MicroTCA chassis or AMC carrier backplane.

    3. Considering #2 ... No.

    Regards,

    Kyle
