SK-TDA4VM: Setting static IP for SK-TDA4VM

Part Number: SK-TDA4VM

Hi,

I prefer using ssh with the board, but every time I need to use serial port to login first, so I tried to set the static IP for the board hope that I can get a constant IP on booting.

There are information pieces in the forum about this, and I tried many things manipulating with the /etc/systemd/network/, but didn't work out reliably.

Can someone help me with a clean solution? Many thanks.

  • Hello Neal,

Can you please explain what exactly is happening that is making this solution not reliable?

I was able to successfully change the eth0 (used ifconfig to get network data from SK-TDA4VM board) IP address to something static by navigating to

/etc/systemd/network/ and changed the file named 10-eth.network.

Under [Network] , I erased the one variable DHCP=yes

    Then added the following instead:

with Address=(static IP address) I only changed the last number 192.168.43.*

and used the same Broadcast and Netmask addresses from the ifconfig.

The IP address remained the same after reboot as well as power cycle.

Please let me know how it works out.
