CCSTUDIO: CCS9.3 crashes at the splash screen

Genius 13859 points

Hi Experts,

Seeking your assistance please on this issue with CCS:

When I start CCS9.3 on my computer it crashes at the slash screen. Could you help? I have followed the trouble shoot guides.
Windows 10 Pro 22H2 / 64bit.

I have tried running the exe in debug mode and this was the output.

There are post seeing that this seems due to the antivirus. But unfortunately, the customer is not allowed to do so since it is a company PC.
Is there any way to solve it?

For your assistance please.

Regards,
Archie A.

  • Hello,

I have followed the trouble shoot guides.

I assume that the tip to clean the worksapce folder was tried. If not, please ask them to try it.

Can the customer provide the Eclipse error log in: <WORKSPACE FODLER>/.metadata/.log ?

There are post seeing that this seems due to the antivirus

    Which antivirus are they using?

    Thanks

  • Hi Ki,

Thanks for your support. Cx responded:

So if I reinstall Code Composer Studio I can open it but I can't build an internal project that build on my peers computers. I have sent the .log file from my workspace.

So the build fails when I reinstall CCS9.3 but if I install all the updates it crashes at splash screen.

We are using Webroot as the anti-virus at work but I have asked my IT department to look at it and they have excluded C:\ti folder so I am working in that folder.

  • Thanks for the logs. There a lot of issues with cloud agent I see:

!MESSAGE Cloud Agent failed to start: : exit code 1

We are using Webroot as the anti-virus at work but I have asked my IT department to look at it and they have excluded C:\ti folder so I am working in that folder.

Note that cloud agent may also rely on folders in the user's home folder.

Would it be possible for the customer to try the latest CCS (12.1) to see if they have issue with that version?

    Thanks

  • Thanks, Ki.

Customer found out that their cmd.exe was crashing at startup. There was a registry key that was trying to start something that wasn't there which made CMD crash.

After removing the key,CMD started working again and so did CCS 9.3.

    Thank you for your support.
