SK-AM62: Getting board booting from AM62 dev kit booting

Part Number: SK-AM62

I've downloaded and flashed a uSD card with both the Sept and Nov releases of tisdk-default-image-am62xx-evm.wic.  Then with the uSD card inserted and the SW1 SW2 DIP switches set to boot uSD (as indicated in the User's Guide), I apply power to the board with a cable on the J15 UART port connected to a TeraTerm session set at 115200 8N1.  But all I get on the terminal is a '?'

SW1 is set from 1 to 8.... 01000011

SW2 is set from 1 to 8.... 00000010

(as labeled on the board)

This is the only board I have in my office and no working reference board to compare it to.

Can you give me some things to look at?  Thanks.
