PROCESSOR-SDK-AM335X: AM335X and ISO7816

Hi,

I would like to know if it's possible to use ISO7816 on the AM335X ? If it's possible, which driver should i Use ?

It says that current driver use McASP port => which driver he is talking ?

It says that there is a solution about using the PRU, but this will be diffcult based on the answers.

Hello Michael,

The answers have not changed from the second thread you linked. TI does not provide a SmartCard implementation. You may reach out to Smart Embedded Systems to see if they ever ported smartcard to AM335x, as described here: https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors-group/processors/f/processors-forum/1039445/processor-sdk-am335x-iso7816-on-pru-of-am335x/3845035#3845035

Off the top of my head, I am not sure what the other customer was talking about on the "current driver implementation" on AM18x. If I had to guess (without actually researching more), it sounds like signals were coming into and out of the McASP port, but the PRU was controlling the McASP and potentially doing other tasks.

Hello Michael,

Thanks for responding back with their answer, that will help other people with the same question in the future. In that case, you would not be able to get SmartCard implemented on the AM335x unless your team has time and expertise to write PRU firmware to implement SmartCard on your own. (unless there are other third party developers who have developed SmartCard and I am just unaware of them).
