AM4378: QEMU image for AM4378

Part Number: AM4378

I am trying to build an qemu image for one of our products that uses AM4378 processor.

Wanted to know there are references for or ready to use qemu image for this processor family

* I did try to build a image using machine type as qemuarm but it gives me a CPU of Cortex-A15 which isnt what AM4378 is made of.

Would appreciate any pointers, is this ever done by some one.

  • Hi Mahesh,

you can probably find a way to use qemu as a CPU-only simulator (I haven't tried it) but AFAIK there is no device-level emulation solution if that is what you are after.

    What is your use case?

There's a third party company we used for certain projects that is capable of creating device-level simulators with a commercial agreement however each SW simulator is never really as good as the actual hardware. So I'd always recommend testing in HW, if testing is what you are after.

    Regards, Andreas

  • Hi Andreas,

Could you please provide the details of the third party company that is capable of creating device-level simulators, so that we can start evaluating solution?

  • Hi,

below is a link to the company we use for certain TI-internal device-level simulator solutions. I would recommend reaching out to them and discuss possible solutions they might be able to offer or develop for your use case.

I won't be able to provide more support beyond this referral, and my recommendation once again would be to do any development/testing on readily available AM437x hardware platforms, NOT on a simulator solution.
