AM3354: am335x gets hot

What do you mean by "got stuck"?

What software is running on the device?

What do you mean by "so hot"?

What is the voltage of the current you are measuring?

Is there any other debug information you want to provide?

1-by stuck, I mean it stops responding anymore, not network or log or whatever, i think because of the temperature it shut down the CPU.

2-it is the linux with a custom networking application running on it

3-by Hot I mean it gots so warm that I couldnt even touch it

4-The input voltage is 24v and current the board draw is around 100ma in normal condition, but when that problem happened the current went up to the 300ama

I have no other clues. my question is that, is that possible some electrical surge or maybe a wrong pull-up, pull-down caused this issue?

Its a custom dev board, I need to know what can cause the am3354 to exteremly warm up and draw current, blowing gpio port maybe?or DTS wrong definitions,etc

Thank you for the note. 

Since i am not familiar with the architecture i would suggest you looks for the power supply failures like overvoltage or transients affecting any of the device IOs.

is the board functional?

It is, but based on my previous experience, if I contunue working with it, the current being drawn keeps increasing to the extent that the am3354 blow completely.

Thanks. You might want to check the supply rails and if you have provision to measure the current, this will help isolate the rail drawing over current.

Please do a review of the design including the assembly.
