Dear TI experts,

In the process of debugging TDA4VE, we found a new DWB module in the code. What problem is this module expected to solve? How to debug it? At present, there is no relevant module in DCC. Is there any update in DCC? Or are there more detailed instructions for using the DWB module

Hi,

DWB does not require DCC support (it is for white balance).
Please refer to TDA4VE TRM for details.

Hi Chenzhe,

Please contact your local TI support for accessing TRM.
It looks like you need a TRM version that include VPAC3.

We cannot release on e2e.

Dear GangHua,

We have obtained the TRM related to TDA4VE (SPRUJ08_TDA4VL_AL_VE_TRM_v220204), but after detailed inquiry, we found that the description about DWB is only like this small part of the description in the picture I uploaded. Is this TRM the latest? If so, where would the relevant DWB be? Thanks!

Hi Chezhe,

Whichever version you can get from your local support should be the latest available (although I am not sure when the next release would be if any since I am not into the TRM release pro cess).

DWB is a very simple/small H/W block for applying white balance similar to the original WB block after NSF4.

Hi Chenzhe,

Yes, in theory, DWB can solve this issue by applying different AWB gains according to pixel intensity.
Practically, the difficulty is in designing your AWB algorithm such that it can identify the multiple light sources in the view and construct a good DWD LUT in real-time.
