AM625: AM62x Clock Tree Tool

Part Number: AM625
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SYSCONFIG

Hello,

The CLOCKTREETOOL-SITARA (https://www.ti.com/tool/CLOCKTREETOOL?keyMatch=&tisearch=search-everything&usecase=software) does not appear to support the AM62x family.

Do you have clock tree tool that supports AM62x processor or are there plans to update the latest version 1.0.0.9?

Thanks,

Kris

  • AM62x is supported in the SysConfig tool available on dev.ti.com

Select clock tree from the software product drop down then AM62x should be listed as one of the devices

  • Hi Paul,

The software product option is grayed out on my local PC SysConfig installation but I was able to get the clock tree on the cloud version.

What software package do I need to install to get the clock tree available on my local PC, if possible?

I am trying to work out the PRU core clock as we need to configure it for spread spectrum clocking (SSC), which is available and supported on all PLLs. We need to select a PLL source for the PRU core and then switch off or evaluate the effect of SSC on other modules clocked by the same PLL.

However, the clock tree, from SysConfig app, for ICSSM0 (PRU) module shows IEP, UART, and VCLK but not core clock. (see the fragment from the SysConfig ICSSM0 clock tree below)

Here is an image from the AM62x TRM that shows the PRU core clock:

In addition, the TRM shows more PRU core clock sources in the Module integration chapter:

    Thanks,

    Kris

You should be able to download the latest version of the tool from here: https://www.ti.com/tool/SYSCONFIG?keyMatch=&tisearch=search-everything&usecase=software#downloads

Looks like the Core clock was omitted from the tool. I'll file a ticket to have the corrected in the next release.

    Thanks
