TMDSDSK6455: SRIO board

Part Number: TMDSDSK6455
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6455

Hi Experts,

Good day

I would like to test SRIO up to 6.125gbps data rate. Seems like TMS320C6455 supports up to 3.125gbps data rate only. I have implemented SRIO IP for Microchip FPGA PolarFire. Can you please suggest how to interact with PolarFire FPGA? Is the SMA cable enough to connect the SERDES of TMS320C6455 and the FPGA board? Is there any application or driver provided for the SRIO with this DSP starter kit?

Please advise.

Regards,

Josel
  • Hello Josel,

Please note that TMS320C6455 is an old part that no longer has any design support, as per the banner on the Product Page:
    https://www.ti.com/product/TMS320C6455

We can no longer answer hardware or software design questions about this part. If customer wants to design with a more recent processor where we do offer design support, we can answer questions that they might have.

    Regards,

    Nick

  • Hi Nick,

Please suggest a new TI board that has SRIO. I have developed SRIO IP Cores and I want to perform an interoperability tests with the TI board. Please provide details of the board and what will be the interface with the FPGA board.

    Please advise.

    Regards,

    Josel

  • Hello Josel,

I am reassigning your thread to a marketing team member to discuss.

  • Hello Josel

This was assigned to the marketing team, but they did not have background on this either. We have not had had any new devices with SRIO for over 10 yrs now. C6445 was likely the oldest. The newer devices (relative to c6455) were C665x and Keystone 2 family like K2H etc - for most of these also  I do not think there is a straightforward way to interface/test with FPGA board.

I am afraid we do not have any additional guidance for you on this topic. You may search E2E with SRIO as the key word and may find some relevant post from 10-12 yrs back, but unfortunately the team supporting this product do not have any background and additional resources to offer you on SRIO support.

Sorry to keep you waiting without much help at the end.

    Regards

    Mukul
