TDA4VE-Q1: ISP Starting time

Part Number: TDA4VE-Q1

Purpose: 2~3MP 30fps Rear View camera is connected by GMSL2 with TDA4VMidEco. OEM request ISP of TDA4 processing raw image and then output the processed image after ISP to HMI.

Question: when TDA4 could output first image processed by ISP of TDA4 after power up?

OEM's concern is if ISP start takes too long time, then end driver has bad feeling about this delay.

Hi,

ISP in itself runs at very high speed, so cannot take much time. It might just take few ms to process 2 or 3MP frames. The time might require in configuring ISP modules or probably in initializing algorithm and other components.

What is the current time that ISP is taking? can you please share details?

honestly we haven't completed the ISP work, so the timing is not available yet. Do you know roughly the overall timing from power up to ISP processing first image?

Hi Li,

It would be difficult to tell the exact timing, because it depends on a lot of other factors, like, Boot Media, Boot Flow, number of sensor registers etc.. So cannot tell the example timings.

On EVM with IMX390 camera, we were able to get the first frame to display in 2s with OSPI as boot media and with SBL boot flow with eMMC filesystem. You could get details on it below faq.
