AM3351: Last reset cause register?

Part Number: AM3351

Is there a register in the AM3351 that contains the cause of the last CPU reset?

  • Hello Thomas Frederick,

    Thank you for the query.

Can you help me understand the development environment. You are using and also elaborate the query as to what you are looking for.

Please refer to the below register

    8.1.13.5.3 PRM_RSTST Register (offset = 8h) [reset = 1h]

    Regards,

    Sreenivasa

  • Thank you Sreenivasa, i think that register does what we need.

We run an application under a Linux distribution from TI.  We want the application to log the last reset cause on startup and write-1 clear them.  If the register is 0, it means we need to look elsewhere for why the application is restarting.  Please let me know if i am misinterpreting the usage of this register, or any other advice on the matter.  However, i think you've answered the question.

    thanks again,

    Tom

  • Hello Thomas Frederick,

Thank you and appreciate the inputs.

The use case that you have described makes sense and i do not have any additional thoughts.

Please, do start a new thread in case you have some questions that i will try answering or assign to an expert internally.

    Have a good evening.

    Regards,

    Sreenivasa
