Hi TI,

Recently we have moved our development from TDA4VM to TDA4H evm. For TDA4H we are facing an issue with mounting as Mass storage (UMS 0 1) to the PC and copying/extracting the larger filesystem into SD card.

UMS is working fine with TDA4VM. Below is the comparison of "dconfig" file. Please let me know if you need any other information. Kindly help to solve this issue. Looking forward to hear from you.

Hi Vineeth

Currently the UMS is not supported in any of the device officially.

We are evaluating on this ,.there is no such plan to support this feature in near future.

Thank you very much for your quick reply. But U-boot UMS cmd for accessing SD card is working fine with TDA4VM. This is very important for us because we remotely connect to evm and do the developments.

One of my colleague asked similar question very long back, below is the e2e link . Here he is suggested to use the USB Mass storage for data transfer.

Same thing we are trying achieve in J784s4. Please let me know your thoughts.

I understand your concern , currently we dont test the UMS functionality so it may be working in TDA4VM but not in j784s4

we will take this as a requirement and raise a jira for that.

Can you please help me with USB flashing procedure or flashing in general. As informed we are remotely connecting to test benches ie, physically access not there.

Hi Vineeth

You can try with the nfs boot to work remotely or you can use a dfu boot mode to boot upto the uboot and then use emmc/sd for the rootfs.

If you want to change anything on the rootfs you can do so by ssh once the eth is up and running.
