SK-AM69: Question about debugging

Hello everybody,

I'd like to purchase the SK-AM69 evaluation board, but I would like to know first whether it is a suitable board to work remotely. I know that it comes with an integrated debugger, but does it allow to reboot/power cycle the board? I'd like to test/debug low-level firmwares and kernel drivers, so relying on Linux to reboot the board is not an option for me. Ideally the board would stay connected to a shared server with the CCS IDE available via VNC or similar.

Hi Alvise,

Yes the board comes with an integrated xds110 usb basee jtag port. You can use CCS to soft reset the individual cores from CCS and yes Linux can be used to warm reset the whole board. If you want completely power cycle the board you may need usb phidgets but for most debugging Linux reboot should suffice.

Hello Keerthy,

Thanks for your feedback, it's very appreciated. As I'll be working on some low-level stuff, I won't have any Linux terminal available. So I'll find a solution to remotely reboot the board with a USB-controlled relay. Just to be sure, in order to flash firmwares like tispl.bin, does someone have to move some deep-switch?

You can use UART/DFU to flash those binaries.
