TDA3MA: Watchdog timeout reset

Hi Expert,

I configure the watchdog using the RTIDwwdWindowConfig, ,after the App restarts caused by a watchdog timeout reset，the program runs in an endless loop in GIO_construct Called in System_uart3Init.

But the APP restarts normally after calling PMHALResetAssertGlobal(PMHAL_PRCM_GLB_RG_GLOBAL_COLD_RST).

Is there any difference between the two kinds of reset?

Hi,

Watchdog will trigger WARM Reset vs PMHALResetAssertGlobal(PMHAL_PRCM_GLB_RG_GLOBAL_COLD_RST) will trigger COLD Reset.

There are registers and internal memories which are warm reset insensitive so the system doesn't not fully restart in default state.

Please refer to TRM for which registers/memories are not reset by warm reset.

With warm reset, software may not restart due to some stale states in registers or memory.
