Hello TI,

Is there any demo or guideline for enabling second eDP display (port1) in TDA4H qnx SDK?

Am facing an issue to enable second eDP (port 1) display in TDA4H with SDK version 08_06 in QNX.I am always getting output at eDP port zero only.

I dont have infotainment card connected ie, am using eDP ports (Port 0 and 1). I have connected one eDP display in port 0 and other eDP display in port 1.

I have enabled "ENABLE_DSS_DUAL" and undefined "ENABLE_DSS_SINGLE" in "vision_apps/platform/j784s4/rtos/common/app_cfg_mcu2_0.h"

I am running "app_single cam" demo. I am always getting display output at port zero irrespective of changing the pipeid ie, "obj->display_params.pipeid = 1"

and also changed the display node target as display 2 in "app_single cam" demo app.

Please help me to resolve this issue.

Hi Vineeth,

do you mean second DP? I dont think TDA4VH can output two DPs, The second DP connector on the EVM is actually coming from DSI, which is not yet enabled in the SDK.

The second DP enabling in the SDK is in your pipeline? When I can expect that?

Hope the HDMI are enabled in the current SDK with infotainment card.

Hi,

As far as i know, there is no plan to enable second DP in the SDK. Its available/supported at the driver level, so you would require to enable it.

I really doubt even HDMI output is supported in SDK.

Unfortunately, as far as i know, it is not enabled, so there is no faq/guidelines. i will check internally with the team.

Any update from your team regarding the guidelines for enabling second DP port ?

Is the MST support available with the latest sdk? If so please guide me on that.

If not, is there any alternative way to connect 2 displays with TDA4H evm?

Hi,

SDK have not really validated dual display, though similar mechanism as TDA4VM should work.

MST is not supported in the SDK yet.

Hi Brijesh,

Any update from your team regarding support on second DP port enabling in SDK? or the guidelines for enabling it ?

We have some demos pipelined coming months and dual display is very critical for us.

Steve emailed me that he raised this with ADAS BU team.

Please let me know the status.

Brijesh,

Daviel has shared the patches with me. But the patches is for J721s2 and Linux+RTOS. Since we are using TDA4H EVM (J784S4), what all changes we need to do it for making this work in High EVM? Also we are using QNX+RTOS not Linux.

Similar changes would need to be added even for J784S4.

Can you please wait for SDK9.2? This will be supported in the SDK9.2, which will be released on few days.
