DM3730: Fault in USB PHY between DM3730 and TPS65921‏

Part Number: DM3730
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65921,

Dear Texas instruments,
We have been integrating the Digital Media Processor (DM3730-CUSA) with the integrated power management component TPS65921. Our USB peripheral (in the processor) is controlled by the TPS6592, as the USB PHY.
However , during the functionality of this connection we have encountered an error from the mismatching of the registers in both components: While TPS register show that VBUS is high (VBUS_valid aka USB_INT_STS=0x6) , DM3730 registers claim that VBUS is below SessEnd ("00").
When we encounter the mismatch the USB peripheral fails to connect to a HOST and we receive "VBUS ERROR" interrupt .
Its important to note that this error is statistical and disappearing with HOT/COLD reset, but its not ideal to us.
We tried to find its root cause and/or get workaround, we took the following actions:
  • We wrote specific kernel to create this specific VBUS error and we saw the registers being synchronized correctly , indicating our mismatch between the registers triggers the error and not the other way.
  • Delay between the VBUS and start session has no effect on the error's statistics
First of all , we would be glad to know if youre familiar with the following error , and what can cause it?
Furthermore , are there any workaround for solving the mismatch error in order to correct the functionality between the 2 components?
Best regards,
Eli
