[FAQ] AM24x/AM64x/AM62X : What are the maximum sizes of NAND or NOR or PSRAM memories that can be connected to GPMC for the AM24x/AM64x/AM62X ?

Part Number: AM6412

The FAQ mainly explains the maximum sizes of NAND / NOR /PSRAM memories can be connected to GPMC peripheral.

  • The image below shows to what the maximum sizes of NAND / NOR /PSRAM devices can be connected CS0.

  • What do we support in MCU+SDK ?

AM24X/AM64X/AM62X : In MCU+SDK we support NAND device driver support with 8 bit.

In future releases we are trying to add support for NOR/PSRAM support as well.

What do we support in Linux ?

    AM64X/AM62X :

  • Limitations :

    • The above sizes can be applicable to CS0. If the user wants to connect different memories on different CS lines (Stack connection ) , This may increases the bus capacitance which creates malfunction of GPMC. So, before making this type of design decision please contact, with HW TI experts.
    • The size of NAND devices is limited to 2GBytes in the SBL and then, there is no limitation in the Application.
    • The CS size should be maximum 128M bytes only .
